Bio

Jeremy Mullins is a third-generation football coach with nearly two decades of experience building successful programs, developing student-athletes, and fostering championship culture. Throughout his career, Mullins has been recognized for his ability to build strong relationships, develop winning teams, and lead programs that excel both athletically and academically.

Most recently, Mullins has served as the Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Eagle Mountain High School since its opening in 2024. As part of opening a brand-new campus in 2024, the football program began competition without a senior class. Despite the challenges that accompany starting a new program, Eagle Mountain became one of the few schools in Texas to reach the playoffs in its very first season. In 2025, just the program’s second year of existence, the Knights won eight games and captured the Bi-District Championship.

Prior to Eagle Mountain, Mullins served seven years as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Tolar ISD. During his time at Tolar, the Rattlers experienced unprecedented athletic success across multiple programs. The football program compiled numerous postseason accomplishments including two District Championships, five Bi-District Championships, three Area Championships, two Regional Semifinal Championships, a Regional Championship, a State Semifinal appearance, and a State Championship Game appearance following a 14–2 season. The program also produced three consecutive 10+ win seasons while setting school records for both offensive production and defensive performance. Mullins and his staff were named District Coaching Staff of the Year twice during his tenure.

Mullins began his career in education and coaching at his alma mater, Merkel High School, in 2007. During his six years at Merkel, he worked alongside his father and had the opportunity to coach both of his younger brothers. During this time the Badgers made the football playoffs all six seasons—the longest streak in school history. Merkel also captured the outright District Championship in 2011 for the first time since 1963 and recorded back-to-back nine-win seasons for the first time since 1947.

In 2013, Mullins joined the staff at Boswell High School under Head Coach John Abendschan. While at Boswell, he coached defensive backs and served as the Special Teams Coordinator. During his four years with the Pioneers, the program made the playoffs three times, won a District Championship in 2015, captured three Bi-District Championships, and advanced to the state quarterfinals in 2016 for the first time in 39 years.

Mullins’ passion for coaching began long before his professional career. A native of West Texas, he attended both Sunray and Merkel High School where he participated in multiple sports and extracurricular activities. As a senior, he was named an All-State Linebacker and District Defensive MVP. Following high school, Mullins attended Eastern New Mexico University where he played football for four years under Harold “Bud” Elliott and Mark Ribaudo. He led the team in tackles during both his junior and senior seasons and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education.

Coaching is deeply rooted in the Mullins family. Jeremy is a third-generation coach, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Franky Don Mullins, and his father, Kieth Mullins, both of whom had successful careers as head football coaches.

Jeremy and his wife, Mandi, met while attending Eastern New Mexico University and have been married for 15 years. Mandi is also an educator and plays a vital role in supporting their family and the communities they serve. Together they have four children: Shelby, who lives in Temple; Jordan, who lives in Portales; Jaidyn, who is a sophomore; and Keegan, who is in seventh grade.
Through every stop in his career, Mullins has remained committed to developing young men of character, building strong programs, and creating a culture where student-athletes can succeed in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
